Last month Tomas Hanus made his much-awaited debut at the Vienna Staatsoper with performances of Dvorak’s Rusalka
“The discovery of the evening was the conductor Tomáš Hanus, who celebrated a successful state opera debut. The current music director of the Welsh National Opera, who has frequently appeared at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich in recent years, as well as many renowned European orchestras, left no doubt about his clear ideas even in the overture… A musician in the best sense of the word, who does not put himself at the centre of attention, but who cares about the work and its suspenseful presentation.” – Die Presse
So successful were the performances that Tomas has received an immediate reinvitation for further performances in future seasons.
